DAE alumnus Lex Pott and Found by James present their limited edition art project True Colours Miniatures during Salone del Mobile in Milan 2012. Lex has created 40 limited edition artworks that capture the beauty and irregularity of metals. The True Colours Miniatures will be for sale exclusively via Found by James.
Salone del Mobile in Milan, April 17th - 22nd:
Tuttobene: Via Tortona 31, Capannone (Opificio31)
The Front Room: Ca'Laghetto, Via Laghetto 11
Lex Pott graduated Cum Laude (2009) from department Man & Living at the Design Academy Eindhoven and decided to move to Amsterdam to start his own studio at the NDSM-werf. Lex allows nature to play its part in design. Also he investigates a material from its origins all the way through production and end use.
Lex Pott says: “My work explores the boundaries between art and design, function and story, object and imagination. I would like to keep this experimental formula of working as long as it creates unexpected results. As a starting point, I use raw materials from nature as the basis of my work. There is also an uncontrolled part in my designs and a rational geometric part. The tension between all these aspects should be in perfect harmony otherwise it just doesn’t work.”
