Karma
What: A series of performative acts as a metaphor to reveal our close connection to the earth, and therefore to climate change.
Why: It seems as if we have spent the last century trying to distance ourselves from our bond with nature, believes Paula Schulenburg. Only when we recognise that we are part of the network of life, can we hope to tackle the cause of the current environmental crisis – our own behaviour.
How: Small scenes and poetic acts speak of our human experience as mentally rising beyond our surroundings, while at the same time we are unable to transcend the physicality of our earth-bound existence.
“As creatures of the earth, we act as inhabitants of the universe”
