How It Feels

What: A series of stop-motion animations that convey what it feels like to live with depression.

Why: When someone you love suffers from depression, your relationship with them can come under a lot of pressure. Often there is a lack of communication and understanding towards each other.

How: In her animations and the related website and Instagram account, Aline Gerards aims to create a space where people can explore what someone with depression is going through. Aline spoke to many suffering from depression to create visual translations of their experiences. Her images are a way to convey complex emotions more intuitively than words.
