Qwearing the Collection
In ‘Qwearing the Collection’, Olle Lundin explores how a queer perspective can be used to change the experience of visiting a museum. He has created clothes as a tour guide. His shirts, kimonos and scarves contain information about the art works and places them in this ‘other’ light of deconstructionist criticism. But to get the information, you read the images and texts on the clothes you wear or move your body around another user to find it, creating an acute awareness of your body and attracting attention from other visitors. Lundin’s design not only sheds new light on the collection, but also on the person watching it, and turns the white cube into a bright stage.
