Reborn

With ‘Reborn’, Pleun van Dijk wants to create awareness of the ethical and moral implications of the many opportunities we humans have today for biomedical improvement. We repair what is damaged, replace broken body parts and change our look to fit an ideal. We seem to hold the key to perfection and gradually change into designed human beings. Where does all this lead? Will humans ultimately become modular systems? Pleun’s design thesis and installation invite us to join the conversation and give us an opportunity to anticipate the new developments before they sneak up on us.
