Design on the table

What is the definition of design? What makes it good or bad? And who is the judge of that?
Inspired by the television show ‘Tussen Kunst & Kitch’ (Antiques Roadshow), Valery Overhoff started a show of her own, called ‘Design on the table’, where people present their favourite object in their own home. Valery does not pass a judgement or estimate the actual value; the focus is on what makes the object special to its owner. By linking each showcase to a piece of design history, Valery offers an insight into why objects are designed the way they are, whether it’s a decorative bowl by Droog Design, or a dishwashing brush from Xenos.
