Disastrous theme park
It’s hard to really get a sense of the disastrous effects of climate change, believes Gideon Duschek. That’s why he designed Rampzalig – a theme park with a twist. Here, visitors can get their kicks from attractions that simulate real disasters awaiting us in the future. These include a white-water ride set amid a flooded city, a tidal wave breaking through a surge barrier, and a giant melting iceberg. “By allowing visitors to experience these disasters, they gain a greater awareness,” explains Gideon. But, theme park isn’t only a wake-up call; it is also designed to nourish our joy of fear. An unforgettable day out is guaranteed.
