Madeleen Dijkman has always been fascinated by the secrets and small treasures she found on the pavement: “Faded colours, repair marks and abandoned materials tell you stories about a place.” These six curtains are inspired by the structures and patterns beneath her feet on a walk from town to the countryside. The series start with photos of tiles, and silk-screened cracks in the pavement, followed by shadows of leaves, sandy surfaces and grass. Layered, they create an enchanting world as they filter the sunlight, bringing the outside in.
