Behind Bars
“A fence locks you in, makes you feel trapped. Fences always do the same thing but sometimes you don’t want that. Sometimes you want to be able to go through one. That was my frustration,” says Fanny Hofstra. Her frustration resulted in the project Behind Bars. Hofstra wanted to design a fence that offers freedom. Fences for large events or festivals that can open with the touch of a button. The organiser decides. This gives them the freedom to open up the fences at closing time, or if an event threatens to get out of hand and safety becomes an issue.
