Chicken living space

Mariska Hilhorst wants to bring the chicken closer to humans. She has created the Chicken Living Space to place in the backyard of family homes. Hilhorst: “You will see how chickens draw you out of your house and into the garden!” The living space has room for three chickens. They can do everything that makes chickens happy. Scratch for corn, bathe in dust, lay eggs, flap their wings, sleep and eat insects, which, Hilhorst says, are like sweets for the chickens. Hilhorst also made the book The Chicken which answers questions such as ‘How does a chicken lay an egg?’ and ‘Can a chicken dream?’.
