Branchings
The furniture industry substantially draws on nature. And yet the natural shape of the most widely used material — wood — is not commonly applied. While offering excellent supporting qualities in their original shape, tree trunks and branches — the green giants' frameworks — are cut into straight beams. Any leftover wood is discarded. Branchings is a range of furniture that toys with the tensions between nature and the industry. The legs are aluminium casts of random branches, the plate material is made from planed down excess wood from a wood mill. These tables, benches and cupboards make the most of what nature has to offer.
