Invertebrate Threading

Inge de Vor lets the material guide her. For her Invertebrate Threading project, the materials in question are ironing beads and Fimo clay. She created her own creatures, inspired by her fascination with invertebrates. De Vor: “Round, armoured backs, tickly feet, curled up bodies and stacks of segments that can move in concord with each other. These are the basic building blocks of my accessories line.” By melting the ironing beads and investigating the many possibilities of Fimo clay, De Vor arrived at a new type of bead.
