Forget Me Not

New technology has made many products obsolete. Record players for example. And yet this dated technology still has an inherent beauty, believes Ruben Thier. In Forget Me Not, he exposes the inner workings of record players, removing them from their original casing. To make playing LPs a more visual experience, Thier has made miniature installations on the records themselves, adding a narrative dimension to the spinning vinyl. These DIY music boxes are both a celebration of technology and a contemporary ode to a bygone era.
