TURN EMPTINESS INTO SOMETHING TANGIBLE
Turning the emptiness between two moments into something
tangible. The thing that makes our hearts beat or stop beating.
The great nothing. In order to hold on to the connection with the
impalpable, Susanne de Graef has captured it in People and the
Things that Pass, a lighting object that starts from the ceiling.
Two glass shapes, one fitting into the other, with a network of
threads flaring out to just above floor level from the glass inner
shape. The threads slowly respond to their environment,
only to silently float above the floor again moments later, filling
the emptiness.
