Marked by life, filled to the brim, damaged and cherished. To many women, the purse is an extension of the body, its contents a time capsule containing a host of information about its owner. Anniek Docter has taken photographs of almost 100 bags and turned them into a book Insight Out. Based on the book she has designed three versions of a bag to make a statement with; they will reveal a personality on the outside. Funky Garbage is shaped like a bin bag, representing organised chaos; the mirror bag Elegant Glamour represents the desire for perfection; and the tool belt Funky Escape represents a home for a mobile existence.
