THE ESSENCE OF A CITY COLLECTED
Collecting, filing, ordering, rearranging until something new arises;
this is what Mullié does. He has observed the city of Dordrecht,
regarding it as one big collection. An arrangement of elements
that could be combined or arranged differently. Using six crates
he demonstrates how you could improvise to your heart’s content
with things that are readily available: fences, window frames,
bricks, and beams caught in ever-changing frameworks.
The wooden crates form The Dordt Collection, a new collection
that could be transported at any given moment, to demonstrate
the beauty of improvisation.
