A TABLE AND BARBECUE IN ONE
Being outside and preparing and enjoying a meal with friends
and family has inspired Eline Simons to create a table that would
combine all these aspects. ‘Involving everyone in the preparation
of a meal enhances the mood.’ The Chef’s Table contains a
stainless steel tray for briquettes with a grill plate over it. On top
of this there will be cedar planks for cooking the food. The hot air
from the burning coals will remain trapped inside the table to a
certain extent, which will turn the table into a heat source for the
entire evening. Simons has designed three versions: a wooden
table, one made out of stone, and one out of metal. All three are
centred around grilling the food, but the preparations and tastes
will differ with each table.
